For my mobile business research I chose to focus on the tools that could help keep a startup business on track to growth. Lightspeed(software) is a point of sale and retail management software compatible with computer, tablet and smartphone devices. This software could help the business create organize and keep track of inventory and also take payments in store or online. Most companies are opting out of generic POS hardware and vying for a tablet or smart phone(hardware)replacement. With these lighter devices it allows the employee to check inventory anywhere in the store for a customer inquiry and also take mobile payment. In order to accomplish this something like the Square card reader (hardware) could be used to take credit card payments from those mobile devices. One or twowireless airprint enabled printers (hardware) would give customers the option to have any printed documentation necessary to accompany their purchase. These printers do not need a desktop laptop computer, just a wireless network. Dropbox (software) is an important tool for any small to medium business as it offers cloud storage for free and for paid subscribers. This would be a great way to store all current company documentation and marketing materials. The final item would also just be a router(hardware). Having wi-fi is vital to a business’ success. With this, mobile communication and speed are vastly improved and if a guest wifi network is also set up it creates a friendly environment while customers are waiting for an appointment.
